Material World in a nutshell.....
Kay Norton-Knight, Mudgee mother of four daughters grew up near the border of NSW & QLD.  "My mother and I would drive miles into town to buy fabric, but there was so little choice and it always seemed so expensive.  People are keen to make the most of their homes, but money is often short.  So I decided to offer our customers real value by keeping overheads down and buying thousands of metres at a time".    Kay built the business with the help of her husband Gerald & their loyal staff, plus the support of their four daughters, Emma, Amber, Katrina & Millie.

            The changing face of Material World
Our image was slightly "no frills" with the yellow and black 'bargain basement' atmosphere.  After 15 years we decided it was time for a change.  Our new logo better reflects our style in 2003.  It's cleaner and more contemporary, fitting the quality & variety of our fabrics, and new products such as blinds & all sorts of curtain accessories.  And our shops in the city & on the coast have introduced DECORATE YOUR WORLD, a complete home decorating service.  We come to your home with fabric samples, provide you with decorating advice, measure, quote, make & install! Everything at an affordable price.  We're still providing great value, a huge range of products and the friendly, professional customer service we're famous for.
